Despite what looked to be a picture perfect launch there was some damage to the shuttle. That said, the early assessment is the damage is not a problem. A final determination will come later this afternoon as well as the results from the rest of the thermal protection system inspection.
Rendevous is approaching very soon and the actual grapple of Hubble will occur at 12:54 EDT. (I get to watch even!). Once Hubble is in hand it will be attached to a Flight Support System where it will stay for the duration of the repair work.
The actual repair work will begin tomorrow (May 14) when the STS-125 crew conduct their first spacewalk.
