Cassini ISS images - March 15-19, 2010


The following new images taken by the Imaging Science Subsystem (ISS) on the Cassini spacecraft are now available:
  • Young and Old (Released 15 March 2010)
    Both ancient and more recent surfaces are exposed in this view of Saturn's moon Enceladus.
  • Shadow and Ringshine (Released 16 March 2010)
    Saturn casts its shadow on the rings in this Cassini image that also shows how the rings reflect sunlight onto the dark side of the planet.
  • Zooming in on Adiri (Released 17 March 2010)
    The Cassini spacecraft takes a look through the atmosphere of Saturn's largest moon to spy light and dark in the area called Adiri on Titan.
  • Widening Rings (Released 18 March 2010)
    Saturn's rings and its moon Rhea are imaged before a crescent of the planet.
  • Cratered Spud (Released 19 March 2010)
    Appearing like eyes on a potato, craters cover the dimly lit surface of the moon Prometheus in this high-resolution image from the Cassini spacecraft's early 2010 flyby.
