Cassini ISS images - April 5-9, 2010

The following new images taken by the Imaging Science Subsystem (ISS) on the Cassini spacecraft are now available:
  • Yin Yang Iapetus (Released 5 April 2010)
The two-toned surface of Saturn's moon Iapetus is demonstrated in the dark region of the moon visible on the top left and the bright crater in the lower right of this Cassini portrait.
  • Bright Spokes, Dark Shadow (Released 6 April 2010)
Bright spokes and the shadow of a moon grace Saturn's B ring in this Cassini spacecraft image.
  • Lit Through the Haze (Released 7 April 2010)
The Cassini spacecraft looks toward the dark side of Titan as a circle of light is produced by sunlight scattering through the periphery of the atmosphere of Saturn's largest moon.
  • Prometheus Between Rings (Released 8 April 2010)
Saturn's A ring appears bright compared to the thin F ring, which is shepherded by the moon Prometheus, in this view from the Cassini spacecraft.
  • Profiling Dione's Wisps (Released 9 April 2010)
Wispy terrain winds across the trailing hemisphere of Saturn's moon Dione in this Cassini view taken during the spacecraft's Jan. 27, 2010 non-targeted flyby.
