Cassini ISS images - March 29-April 2, 2010

The following new images taken by the Imaging Science Subsystem (ISS) on the Cassini spacecraft are now available:
  • Hiding Rhea (Released 29 March 2010)
The moon Rhea moves behind Saturn's largest moon, Titan, in this "mutual event" imaged by the Cassini spacecraft.
  • Dual Illuminated Enceladus (Released 30 March 2010)
Two light sources illuminate Saturn's highly reflective moon Enceladus in this image featuring bright rings and the small moon Pandora in the foreground.
  • Pan's Effects (Released 31 March 2010)
Saturn's moon Pan, orbiting in the Encke Gap near the top of the image, casts a short shadow on the A ring in this image taken about six months after the planet's August 2009 equinox.
  • Cruising Past Janus (Released 1 April 2010)
Saturn's moon Epimetheus passes in front of Janus in this "mutual event" chronicled by the Cassini spacecraft.
  • High-Phase Drama (Released 2 April 2010)
Although the sun is on the other side of Saturn in this dramatic image, some sunlight scatters through the uppermost part of the atmosphere to reach the Cassini spacecraft's cameras.
