Cassini ISS images - June 1-5, 2009

The following new images taken by the Imaging Science Subsystem (ISS) on the Cassini spacecraft are now available:
  • Gravity-Induced Undulations (Released 1 June 2009)
Saturn's moon Daphnis gives a scalloped look to the edge of the A ring as the moon orbits within the Keeler Gap.
  • A Little Off the Top (Released 2 June 2009)
The huge Odysseus Crater disfigures the face of Saturn's moon Tethys.
  • Tethys' Truncated Shadow (Released 3 June 2009)
The tip of the shadow of the moon Tethys is cut off where it crosses Saturn's B ring, demonstrating the variations in density across the planet's rings.
  • Plying a Division (Released 4 June 2009)
Saturn's moon Atlas, shown at the center of this image, orbits within the Roche Division separating the A ring from the tenuous F ring.
  • Titan in Eclipse (Released 5 June 2009)
The Cassini spacecraft captured this image of a dimly lit Titan as Saturn's largest moon was eclipsed by the planet.
