Cassini ISS images - June 15-19, 2009


The following new images taken by the Imaging Science Subsystem (ISS) on the Cassini spacecraft are now available:
  • Two Lights on Two-faced Janus (Released 15 June 2009)
    The small moon Janus is illuminated by light from both the sun and Saturn.
  • Diminutive Debut (Released 16 June 2009)
    For the first time, the Cassini spacecraft captures the shadow of Saturn's tiny moon Pandora sneaking onto the planet's main rings.
  • Broad Impact on Tethys (Released 17 June 2009)
    The Odysseus Crater dominates this view of Saturn's moon Tethys.
  • Janus' Ring Shadow Premiere (Released 18 June 2009)
    The Cassini spacecraft catches Janus joining other Saturnian moons in the equinox shadow-casting party.
  • From Rings to Planet (Released 19 June 2009)
    The shadow of the moon Mimas has just slipped off Saturn's rings and onto the planet in this Cassini spacecraft image.
