HiRISE images for July 8, 2009

The following new images taken by the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter spacecraft are now available:

• Search for the Mars Polar Lander
  HiRISE has helped the successful Mars Exploration Rovers and Phoenix Lander by giving these teams an "eye-in-the-sky" view. We are also trying to help understand why some missions were not successful.
• Ramparts in Tooting Crater
  This image is of the ejecta blanket of the Tooting Crater in the northern hemisphere of Mars.
• Ramparts in Tooting Crater (Stereo Pair)
  This is the second half of a stereo pair with observation ESP_013089_2040.
• Gullies in Acidalia Planitia Region
• Interesting SHARAD Features
  SHARAD (Shallow Subsurface Radar) looks for liquid or frozen water in the first few hundreds of feet (up to 1 kilometer) of Mars' crust.
• Layering and Faulting in Candor Chasma
• Spring View of Crater with South Polar Layered Material
